Quad Infernum!!

For those of you who don’t know Latin, this translates roughly to “What the Hell!!”.  No, I didn’t know that and I had to use a translator app to figure it out.  However, this is what I seem to be constantly saying to myself for the past 6+ weeks since Trump re-entered the White House.

As a professional in the Recruiting and Human Resources field, I have often advised people to avoid political topics online.  Such posts and commentary remain online forever and when it comes to seeking employment or working in an environment where there may be differing political opinions, even the most innocuous comment could easily be interpreted as an attack on those whose views differ, especially in today’s political climate.

However, given what has been happening, here in the US during these past several weeks, I have found that even as I still believe in what I have told people in the past, I can no longer sit on the sidelines and watch as our country is torn apart by Donald Trump, Elon Musk and their cronies.

“To sin by silence, when we should protest, makes cowards out of men” is the beginning of a quote by Ella Wheeler Wilcox which keeps coming to mind and these words seem to resonate with me today more than any other time in my life.

I have often sat back and lent quiet support to those fighting the “good fight” but given the current political landscape where Trump and his MAGA followers only seem interested in retribution against those who oppose them and to wipe out funding and support for any programs which do not immediately benefit themselves, I find that I must raise my voice and shout my support of the resistance and I invite anyone who feels the same way to join me in adding my voice to the millions of others who are on the front lines fighting for our freedoms and in some cases for our very lives.

To this end, I will be using my blog and online presence to post my views to anyone who will “listen.”  I know that most of the people in my life who “follow” me agree with my point of view and so it may be “preaching to the choir” but this is also for my own sanity to be able to get these thoughts out and hopefully be able to create some awareness at the same time.
